BUS2Talk: Mobility of the Future - Digital, connected and climate-friendly

Guest: Daniela Kluckert, Member of the German Bundestag and Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport

In this episode we talk with Daniela Kluckert, Member of the German Bundestag and Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Digital and Transport, about the future of mobility.

Seamless mobility will play a much more important role in the future. This perfectly coordinated approach will make it possible to travel from Lake Constance to the North Sea with just one ticket – with all the information passengers need digitally compiled in a Germany-wide app. According to Daniela Kluckert, this will require much better cooperation between transport companies, for example, when it comes to providing data.

The widely varied and complex needs of individuals must be given more emphasis in the planning of transport concepts. Special consideration should focus on the mobility needs of women and handicapped people. This is especially important when it comes to safety. Flexibility may well be the answer to a key question: "Are transport companies prepared to envision a new approach to mobility from the user's point of view? Because this is the basic prerequisite for change," Daniela Kluckert says.

A note for all non German-speaking listeners: this episode is only available in German.
