BUS2BUS rescheduled for next year

BUS2BUS 2022 will take place on 27 and 28 April on the Berlin Exhibition Grounds – The BUS2BUS Special Edition 2021 features a live virtual event on 15 April 2021

BUS2BUS has been rescheduled for 2022. Messe Berlin made the decision after consulting with leading national and international companies and the Federal Association of German Bus- and Coach Operators (bdo). The next edition of Germany’s only trade show for the bus industry will be held on 27 and 28 April 2022 in Berlin. Under the title ’BUS2BUS Special Edition’, a fascinating live virtual event will take place on the show’s original dates in April 2021.

“Mobility is changing all the time and will remain a key topic in the future. Innovative and sustainable transport concepts are creating new value chains around the world, and we aim to highlight them with corresponding events. Accordingly, new forms of mobility already play an important part in Messe Berlin’s portfolio of events. With BUS2BUS, we have established a highly topical event for this sector and invite all actors to help develop it with us – this year at the virtual BUS2BUS Special Edition and next year at an in-person event again“, said Martin Ecknig, chief executive officer of Messe Berlin.

“After talking with companies already registered for the show, the significant trust the bus industry places in BUS2BUS has become clear. It is the combination of personal dialogue and innovative event formats that sets BUS2BUS apart. The focus here is on buses and experiencing this form of transport. Due to the current situation we are unable to hold an in-person event to our usual standard until next year and have therefore decided to reschedule BUS2BUS for April 2022. The exhibiting companies welcome and support this decision“, said Kerstin Kube-Erkens, senior product manager of BUS2BUS.

Christiane Leonard, managing director of the Federal Association of German Bus Operators (bdo) said: “In the coming months measures to protect health will continue to dominate public life in Germany and around the world. Unfortunately, the circumstances make it impossible to hold BUS2BUS in the format this industry event deserves. We very much look forward to holding close discussions with actors from the bus industry again at the next edition in spring 2022. The third BUS2BUS will take place just at the right time to set the tone for a recovery and reboot of our industry. “

Taking place on the dates originally scheduled for BUS2BUS, there will nonetheless be an outstanding virtual event. The focus of the live BUS2BUS Special Edition on 15 April 2021 is on a personal exchange between policymakers, business, science and the media. Following a welcome address by Messe Berlin and the bdo, a joint debate with the transport industry and policymakers will take place on ’the bus as a flexible and sustainable alternative to the mobility options of the future’.

Afterwards, the publisher Huss-Verlag will present the International busplaner Sustainability Award. Entries are invited from leading European manufacturers, suppliers und startups from the technology sector. “Buses are and will continue to be an indispensable form of transport for successfully implementing new mobility concepts and sustainable change. We very much look forward to honouring those members of the industry for their commitment to a sustainable future. BUS2BUS is the ideal platform for that “, said Rainer Langhammer, managing director of Huss-Verlag.
