Electricity from solar power
Roof-integrated PV modules generate electricity on the bus, cutting generator and battery load, saving up to 9% energy, and reducing battery replacements and service calls.
OPES Solar BusSets are designed for the specific needs of the bus industry. The photovoltaic modules are mounted on the vehicle roof and generate electricity that can be used to power screens, ticket machines or additional systems. The set reduces the load on the generator and thus saves fuel. Depending on the model and the number of hours of sunshine in the region where the bus operates, the reduction in load can be between three and nine per cent. OPES Solar BusSets are also ideal for electric buses. Users can save one to two battery replacements within five years. Experience also shows that there are fewer service calls or jump starts due to solar-charged batteries.
