  • BUS2BUS 2026: 156 exhibitors from 25 countries – the bus industry’s central platform in Berlin

Attracting 4,000 trade visitors, 60 buses and over 100 sessions. BUS2BUS brings together market insights, innovation and practical applications to provide guidance for strategic decision-making.

Starting tomorrow, the bus industry will gather at BUS2BUS 2026 in Berlin. A total of 156 exhibitors from 25 countries will be showcasing their solutions for local public transport, long-distance travel and bus tourism. Around 4,000 trade visitors are expected.

"Transformation requires guidance and dialogue. Many decisions made today will have an impact for years to come. This is exactly where BUS2BUS comes in. We bring together decision-makers and provide a platform for comparing, scrutinising and contextualising innovations,” says Kerstin Kube-Erkens, Director of BUS2BUS.

The industry is undergoing a period of profound change. Zero-emission powertrains, digitalisation and securing a skilled workforce are presenting companies with complex strategic decisions. BUS2BUS provides a platform where these perspectives converge, solutions become tangible, and direction emerges. In collaboration with the German Bus and Coach Operators Association (bdo), the trade fair facilitates direct dialogue between transportation companies, industry representatives, policymakers, and technology providers, supporting well-informed investment decisions.

Market Overview and Concrete Decision-Making Criteria

Exhibitors cover the entire bus mobility value chain, from vehicles and infrastructure to digital systems and services.

For trade visitors, this means one thing above all: the ability to compare. Not only can technologies be viewed, they can also be placed in an operational context. Investment decisions are prepared through discussions that take place directly between manufacturers, operators, and policymakers.

BUS2BUS brings together trade visitors from the public transit, long-distance, and tour bus sectors and fosters direct dialogue across the entire spectrum of bus mobility.

Practical Focus: Experiencing Technologies in Action

Sixty buses will be on display in the halls and outdoor grounds under realistic conditions, ranging from autonomous minibuses to modern tour buses.

The approach is practical: the vehicles are presented in action, not in isolation. For many trade visitors, this is precisely where the added value lies: the opportunity to evaluate technologies and assess their suitability for specific applications under real-world conditions.

    Driving the Future of Mobility

With over 100 sessions across four stages featuring more than 120 international speakers, key industry topics will be addressed, ranging from zero-emission powertrains and digitalisation to new business models and securing a skilled workforce.

Fabian Westerheide will open the stage programme on 15 April. A renowned author, investor and keynote speaker, Westerheide is widely recognised as one of Europe's leading authorities on artificial intelligence. He has been a key figure in shaping the discourse on technological sovereignty and the digital future for many years.

In his keynote address, he will emphasise the strategic importance of AI for the economy and mobility, evaluating the importance of an independent European stance in the context of global competition. He will demonstrate how companies can use AI to strengthen their competitiveness in technological and strategic ways.

Policy in dialogue with the industry

BUS2BUS 2026 brings the industry and policymakers together in a targeted manner. The German Bus and Coach Operators Association (bdo) is playing an active role in organising the event as a conceptual partner, offering trade visitors a central hub for discussing current industry issues and political frameworks.

The new Partner Stage will highlight topics originating directly from regions and companies. Practical discussions in which companies and political decision-makers will jointly develop solutions will take place in collaboration with the bdo’s regional associations.

A political highlight will be the visit by the Federal Minister for Transport, Patrick Schnieder, on the second day of the trade show. As well as touring the exhibition, he will participate in the stage programme. The Federal Ministry of Transport will also have its own booth.

Spotlight on Skilled Workers: Without You, Nothing Would Work

In addition to technological advancements, BUS2BUS 2026 puts people at the heart of mobility.

16 April marks the first-ever Bus Driver Day. This new event is aimed at young professionals and career changers, and aims to highlight the importance of the bus driving profession. The day begins with a reception on the green carpet at hub27, followed by a group tour to the Future Forum Stage.

With the motto "Without you, nothing moves", BUS2BUS honours drivers as a key part of a functioning mobility system, thus sending a clear message about the future of the industry.
