The director of BUS2BUS talks about orientation in turbulent times, practical experience, and why BUS2BUS 2026 is confidently shaping change in the bus industry with courage, exchange and innovation.

What makes BUS2BUS 2026 special for you?

For me, it is much more than just an anniversary edition. It symbolises the industry's confidence and the courage that many companies are currently demonstrating. There is great momentum with new players, ideas and forms of cooperation. I am particularly moved by how openly challenges such as economic efficiency, sustainability, and the shortage of skilled workers are being discussed today. BUS2BUS is where these topics converge – and that makes me proud.

But what role do trade shows play in this transformation?

Transformation requires direction and collaboration. Many of today's decisions will have an impact for years to come. BUS2BUS brings together decision-makers and creates a space where innovations can be compared, questioned and evaluated. Instead of simple answers, we present different perspectives. This strengthens the industry's decision-making ability during challenging times.

Why is a practical focus so important?

Because innovation only counts if it works in everyday life. Buses operate in heavy traffic, rural areas and all weathers. New technologies must be experienced and evaluated honestly. For many visitors, the greatest added value of BUS2BUS is seeing and driving vehicles, and talking directly to developers and users.

Why is there a greater focus on skilled workers?

Because mobility cannot work without people. We often talk about technology, but too rarely about the people who use it every day. Drivers, young professionals, and career changers form the backbone of the industry and deserve recognition and appreciation. Through initiatives like the Young Professionals Program and Bus Driver Day, we demonstrate that the bus industry offers prospects, purpose and a future.

What should participants take away from BUS2BUS 2026?

I hope that trade visitors will leave with a sense of optimism, new contacts and ideas, and the confidence that they are not alone with their questions. The challenges are significant, but the industry is committed and innovative. BUS2BUS aims to encourage people to actively embrace change. If participants leave with answers and new food for thought, we will have achieved a lot.
