The BUS2BUS Special Edition consists of four elements:

The aim of this digital event was to provide new ideas for eco-friendly mobility. Thus the BUS2BUS Special Edition is following up its tried and tested concept, combining inspiration and expertise and offered the bus industry an outstanding meeting place again this year.

pushing for more sustainability


Messe Berlin Studio

Following a welcome address by Messe Berlin and the bdo, a joint debate took place: Dr. Stefan Carsten, a futurist and urban geographer, and Tristan Horx, a futurist and mobility researcher, both representing generation Y. The topic of their joint dialog was ’The bus as a flexible and sustainable offer in the mobility mix of the future’.

After the keynote duo Christiane Leonard, managing director of bdo e.V., and Kerstin Kube-Erkens, senior product manager for BUS2BUS, took a look at current developments and the upcoming topics of BUS2BUS, which is due to take place as an in-person event again on 27 and 28 April 2022.

INTERNATIONAL busplaner SUSTAINABILITY AWARD -
Rewarding sustainable innovations


The trade magazine busplaner was presenting the International busplaner Sustainability Award for the bus industry for the fifth time. This year the awards ceremony took place online at the BUS2BUS Special Edition. The award recognizes bus industry companies which, in looking towards the future, have combined business success with social responsibility and environmentally friendly ideas, and whose sustainable approach furthers growth and prosperity. National and international companies interested in taking part applied with their innovative and sustainable vehicle models and components as well as bus industry services. But who are the winners? At the Tech-Boost the focus was on achieving the transition to sustainable mobility in these times of the pandemic. Companies offering smart mobility solutions exchanged ideas on new standards.

At the second Tech-Boost Session global players discussed hydrogen power as a climate-friendly drive technology.

Rounding off the event at the Fresh Travel session, experts examined how customer needs can become focus of innovation in the bus tourism industry.
